When it comes to eating spicy foods, some people just can't handle the heat. Today, one of them just happened to be NFL legend, Joe Thomas.

Ahead of the big Thursday night showdown between the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Jets, Thomas, along with NFL reporter Andrew Siciliano, attempted on air to eat some hot wings with “St. Elmo's” sauce all over them. In the end, it was safe to say, that the word “attempt” was the operative word of that sentence, as NFL Network tweeted earlier:

It was very clear that neither of the two could handle the intensity of the wings, and who can blame them, judging by the looks on their faces they were closer to vomiting than finishing the plate. Joe Thomas, once the league's iron-man at his position, started over 10,000 consecutive snaps for the Cleveland Browns. When it comes to hot wings, however, neither he nor Siciliano can be considered anything close to the best.

As for the game, this wing debacle might end up being the most exciting part of the night. The Jets are coming in with a backup quarterback who is probably out of his luck after beating a very good Cincinnati Bengals team last week due to some questionable calls and decisions by the Bengals.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh will surely try to  “light a fire” under his team on Thursday night, especially his defense. However, the Colts might be “too hot to handle” with Carson Wentz and Jonathan Taylor both having the “hot-hand” this season.
