The Oakland Raiders and New York Jets have become linked to a variety of different players this offseason as the two AFC franchises continue to seem like possible destinations for a slew of talented free agents and trade chips. Adding to that notion, the tandem of AFC franchises have reportedly agreed to a trade for interior offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele.

ESPN is reporting that Osemele will be heading from Oakland to East Rutherford along with a sixth-round pick in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

Although the Raiders will now be without the veteran's services up front, this is definitely a wise move for Oakland in terms of freeing up some additional salary cap space. Assuming the deal eventually goes through as planned, it will clear more than $10 million in available salary cap space for the Raiders — which also comes along with no dead money, too.

It is no secret that the Raiders are on the upswing, especially after recently landing former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. Despite the fact that the Raiders previously lost wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys and pass rusher Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears, it appears as though Oakland is now all in on welcoming talented players to the Bay Area while pairing such players with a slew of first round NFL Draft picks.

It is worth noting that Oakland did not have to give up a first round pick in order to acquire Brown from the Steelers.
