There isn't a shortage of responses to the players voting in favor of approving the new Collective Bargaining Agreement in the NFL. Following the ratification of the proposed plan, Roger Goodell shared his reaction to the new CBA.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Goodell, who spearheaded the new CBA, is in support of the players that voted yes. With a new CBA in place, the NFL will expand the regular season to 17 games as soon as 2021 while the preseason is reduced to three games.

In addition, the idea of expanded playoffs could come into fruition next season. As a result, fans of the NFL are elated to get more meaningful games in the near future.

While fans and Roger Goodell are excited about the new CBA, there are a decent bit of players that aren't in favor of the new agreement. Nevertheless, the commissioner of the NFL seemingly has the majority of the players on his side.

Besides giving more football to the fans, Goodell believes the increased revenue and benefits for players are positives moving forward. Until the new CBA begins taking shape, it remains to be seen if it goes according to plan for Goodell and the NFL.

Now, after the new CBA has been voted upon, Goodell will have to make decisions on the upcoming events in the offseason. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NFL could elect to postpone free agency and possibly the 2020 NFL Draft.

At the least, Goodell got his way and avoided a work stoppage in 2021.
