The Detroit Lions defeated the Philadelphia Eagles by the score of 27-24 on Sunday afternoon in the “City of Brotherly Love.” While Detroit's recent surge and Philadelphia's continued struggles immediately stood out following the Week 3 NFC clash, so did the game's NFL officiating crew, unfortunately.

It has since been uncovered that Sunday's referees missed a massive facemask call on the Lions as Detroit special teamer Miles Killebrew nearly ripped the helmet off of Eagles return specialist and running back Miles Sanders. The second-quarter play did not result in a flag while the facemask call should have been as clear as day, especially with the officials not too far away from the play.

Leading to even more controversy surrounding the now infamous play, it was the game's back judge who should have made the call on Sunday. Who was the back judge for the NFC matchup in Philadelphia? Todd Prukop, of course, who was notoriously the referee that missed the pass interference call during this year's NFC Championship Game between the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints. While the latest blunder came in a much less pivotal game, it is safe to say that Philadelphia was none too pleased with Prukop for his latest miss.

“How do you miss that unless you are blind?” said 94 WIP’s Angelo Cataldi, via Radio.com. “What if I told you the guy who missed that, the back judge on that crew, is the same guy who missed the pass interference in the New Orleans game playoffs last year? Todd Prukop. That guy is the worst official in American sports!”

With Prukop previously costing the Saints a shot at the Super Bowl, he merely helped sink the Eagles to a 1-2 start this time around.
