The NFL Thanksgiving Day slate of games was supposed to feature a marquee matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens.

However, the NFL has postponed Steelers-Ravens to Sunday afternoon out of an abundance of caution. This means there will be just two games on Thursday, rather than three.

This is a sensible move from the NFL after multiple Ravens players tested positive for COVID-19. Baltimore shut down its facility for the early part of Tuesday amid the uncertainty, and the situation has forced the league's hand.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Steelers players are disappointed with the verdict.

The frustration is understandable.

Pittsburgh has been on the wrong end of postponements on multiple occasions. The NFL was forced to reschedule the Steelers' showdown with the Tennessee Titans after the Titans broke protocol, resulting in a number of positives tests for COVID-19.

Players like Ben Roethlisberger, Eric Ebron and others were openly critical of the lack of accountability from other franchises. But in this case, it seems prudent for the NFL to move the contest to Sunday to keep everyone involved safe as virus continues to wreak havoc with the winter months approaching.

The Steelers will have to wait until Sunday to try and take out their frustrations.

Pittsburgh won the first matchup between the two teams after forcing four turnovers, and will be hoping to remain undefeated on the year.

The Ravens, meanwhile, will look to get healthy and earn a season split with the Steelers while stopping their recent losing skid.

UPDATE: Ravens-Steelers has been postponed for 1:15 p.m. ET on Sunday with broadcasting rights on NBC, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
