One week after being arrested for the suspicion of driving while intoxicated, former NFL star Vince Young said he intends to battle the case in the legal system.

The former University of Texas and NFL legend was arrested at 4:30 A.M. on Monday this past week and was discharged from jail on $500 bail.

Young told the Houston Chronicle on Saturday during an autograph show at NRG Arena:

“I've got a real good lawyer, one of the best in the country. We're going to fight the case. It's just an allegation. I'm not guilty. Everything is good, things happen for a reason. I'm not blaming nobody… I've got a real good lawyer, one of the best in Houston. I'm happy to be here. That's in the past.”

Young is a former first-round draft pick, who was drafted by the Tennessee Titans back in 2006 after an incredible career at Texas.

He last played in the NFL in 2011, where he started three games for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was also at one point on the rosters of the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, and Cleveland Browns.

On his career, Young threw for 8,964 yards, 46 touchdowns, and 51 interceptions, and his dual-threat abilities made him one of the most exciting players in the league when he was at his best.
