The Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys will play in an NFC matchup on Sunday afternoon. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Falcons-Cowboys prediction and pick.

The Falcons and Cowboys will meet in an important NFC matchup in Week 10. The 4-4 Falcons will look to move above .500, while the Cowboys are looking to respond after an ugly loss vs. the Denver Broncos in Week 9. Dallas is a big favorite in this matchup despite being without their top two pass rushers, Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory. Matt Ryan won NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance vs. the New Orleans Saints in Week 9, and the veteran has the Falcons in the playoff picture despite the absence of Calvin Ridley. The Cowboys are big favorites over the Falcons on Sunday, but should they be?

Why The Falcons Can Cover The Spread

Matt Ryan is playing extremely well of late. He seems to be picking up Arthur Smith's system better each week, and the Falcons sit in the NFC playoff picture despite a couple of bad losses earlier in the season. The Falcons do not have a great defense, but have been a little better this season under new defensive coordinator Dean Pees. If Atlanta is going to pull off a cover or a even a win Sunday vs. Dallas, they will need to outscore the Cowboys. The Falcons have been good offensively this season, despite the absence of Ridley. Running back Cordarelle Patterson has became one of the better weapons out of the backfield around the NFL, and rookie tight end Kyle Pitts has been a matchup nightmare for defenses.

The Falcons will face an uphill battle in terms of getting the win on Sunday, but cover the two-possession spread is more than in reach. Ryan is good at keeping games close and putting points on the board, so the Falcons have a great chance to cover in Dallas on Sunday.

Why The Cowboys Can Cover The Spread

The Cowboys are 6-2 and better than the Falcons, but this spread feels a little too big considering how out of sync Dallas' offense looked last week in the return of Dak Prescott. Dallas has a chance to dominate this game up front with their offensive line in the running game, as the Falcons rank 24th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard might be too much for the Falcons defense to slow down, so the Cowboys could be in position to cover and win this game if they can play good defense. The problem is, they will be without Lawrence and Gregory, and may struggle to generate a pass rush vs. a hot Matt Ryan.

Final Falcons-Cowboys Prediction & Pick

Take the Falcons to cover this large spread vs. the Cowboys on Sunday, as they have a hot quarterback and weapons at his disposal.
