Novak Djokovic is on top of the tennis world — again. This is after the Serbian defeated Italian youngster Matteo Berrettini in the 2021 Wimbledon men's singles tournament in four sets via a 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 score on Sunday. This is a history-making win for Djokovic, who just became the first man since the 1960s to capture the first three grand slam titles of a season, as pointed out by ATP TOUR.

It did not start out too well for Novak Djokovic, though. Expected by many to breeze past Berrettini, Djokovic stumbled right out of the gate instead as he lost the first set. It even came to a point that Novak Djokovic reportedly felt disrespected by the crowd who reveled at Berrettini's early success in the game, according to Stuart Ballard of Express.

Boris Becker has revealed that Novak Djokovic “feels disrespected” by the Wimbledon crowd after seeing the world No 1 try and get a rise on Centre Court. Matteo Berrettini upset the script on Centre Court on Sunday when he took the opening set against Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic is on a rampage. He won the Australian Open by beating Daniil Medvedev in the final back in February. At Roland Garros months later, Djokovic took down Stefanos Tsitsipas in the championship match, wherein he came back from a 0-2 set deficit to pull off a magnificent victory.

With his victory at the 2021 Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic has now pulled even with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal for the most Grand Slam titles ever, with each man winning 20.

Djokovic will not turn his attention to completing the four-slam, as he prepares for the 2021 US Open, which kicks off in August.
