Great athletes further prove their greatness when their backs are against the wall. That's exactly what Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic showed Sunday in the final of the 2021 French Open against Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Djokovic looked like he was circling down the drain in the early goings of the match. He lost the opening set, 7-6. Things didn't become better for him in the second round, where Tsitsipas won again in a more dominant fashion, 6-4. At that point, even Djokovic fans might be starting to realize that this was not just for the Serb to win.

Novak Djokovic won the third set after dropping the first two of the French Open Final. Djokovic is 0-5 when losing the first 2 sets in a Grand Slam Final, while Stefanos Tsitsipas is 20-0 in his Grand Slam career when going up 2 sets to 0.

Novak Djokovic wasn't going to be swept at the very least and he made sure of that by storming back to the contest, winning the third set (6-3) and the fourth set (6-2) to force a winner-take-all fifth set, where he laid it all out on the line and finished Tsitsipas off. The final score: 6-7 (6-8), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.

The win gives Novak Djokovic just his second title in the French Open. Moreover, he's now a multi-champion in all tennis grand slam events. The only other time he won the French Open was in 2016, when he defeated Andy Murray in the final. Before making the final in Roland Garros in 2021, Novak Djokovic beat the true legend of clay, Rafael Nadal in the semis.

So, will another Serbian make an epic comeback in the NBA Playoffs? Looking at you, Nikola Jokic.
