Isaiah Thomas was a leading MVP candidate just a few years ago. But for the last two years, it seems that fate has been playing a bad joke on him.

In just two years, he has jumped from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, and recently, the Denver Nuggets. The transfer from team to team can be tiring for any player. Especially for Thomas, who was once considered one of the top point guards in the league.

He opens a new chapter in Denver where he inked a minimum deal for one-year. He has high hopes of finally finding a home — a team which truly wants him.

“Ever since I came to the NBA, all I wanted was the opportunity,” Thomas told Nuggets.com. “I’ll take care of the rest. I’ve always said that to myself.” And one other thing. “I just wanted to be wanted,” he said. “Being wanted is half the battle. When somebody wants you as bad as you want that opportunity, it sort-of always works out.”

Things started to go downhill for Thomas when he left Boston. His hip injury coupled with his seeming lack of chemistry with both the Cavaliers and the Lakers were recipes for disaster. The 29-year-old, despite all the misfortunes that have come his way, still believes in himself.

According to him, he has already paid his dues. He has proven to everyone that he's a winner. All he has to do now is remain healthy and consistent:

“First off, show the world I’m healthy,” he said. “That’s probably the biggest thing. What I’ve done in this league is self-explanatory. I don’t have to prove to anybody who I am anymore. I don’t have to prove to anybody what I bring to the table. I think they know. I’m a winner. I’ll do whatever it takes to win.”
