The Ohio State football team is expected to be one of the best teams in college football in 2024. The Buckeyes are returning a lot of their top talent from a year ago, and they also brought in a ton of top transfers this offseason. They are the favorite in the Big Ten, and they seem like a lock to go to the College Football Playoff now that it has expanded to 12 teams. Ohio State is loaded with talent, and one player to keep an eye on is defensive tackle Tyleik Williams.

Tyleik Williams is getting ready for his senior year with the Ohio State football team, and he has had a great career so far. He has been a contributor on defense since he was a freshman, and he is going to go to the NFL after this year.

During his freshman season, Williams showed that he was going to be a star as he racked up five sacks. He has had three great years now, and last year he totaled 54 tackles and three sacks as a junior. He is poised for a big senior season, and Dane Brugler of The Athletic has him in his top-100.

“Williams was my favorite player of this group to study — don’t be surprised if he is the first Buckeye selected next April,” Brugler wrote. “He plays with outstanding run awareness and the point-of-attack strength to stack, detach and make stops at the line of scrimmage. With prospects like Williams, Michigan’s Mason Graham and a few others, defensive tackle should be well represented early in next year’s draft.”

This Ohio State football team is absolutely loaded with NFL talent, so the fact that Williams could be the first one selected in the NFL Draft says a lot about how good he is. He is going to be one of the best DTs in the country next year, and he will hear his name called early when the draft rolls around.

This is a crucial year for Ohio State football

Ohio State football has been one of the better teams in the country under head coach Ryan Day, but he still hasn't met expectations. He let the rivalry with Michigan flip as the Buckeyes haven't won The Game since 2019, and the Wolverines have won three straight Big Ten titles and they are the defending national champions. Ohio State could go 11-1 every single season, but if they lose to Michigan, then the season is a disappointment.

Ryan Day needs to lead Ohio State to a win over their rival this year. Everything is in the Buckeyes' favor. Michigan no longer has Jim Harbaugh, and they lost the vast majority of their production from last year's national championship team. The game is also at home for Ohio State in Columbus. All in all, there is no excuse for the Buckeyes to lose that game. If they do, it is going to be a big problem, and Day's job could be in jeopardy. That will once again be one of the biggest games of the entire college football season.
