Why The Oilers Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Oilers collapsed in game one of the series, but thye have more than enough offensive firepower to get the win in this one. Connor McDavid has continued to play well in the playoffs. He has one goal and 12 assists in the playoffs, with a goal and eight assists on the power play.  McDavid led the team all year, having 32 goals and 100 assists in the regular season, while also having seven goals and 37 assists on the power play.

Leon Draisaitl also has been solid. He has scored five goals and seven assists this year in the playoffs, good for 12 points. He also has three goals and five assists on the power play. Draisaitl was second on the team in points this year, having 41 goals and 15 assists. Meanwhile, goals have been coming from Zach Hyman here in the playoffs. He has nine goals so far in the playoffs, while also having an assist. This is not abnormal for Hyman. He led the team with 54 goals in the regular season.  The Oilers have also received help from the blue line in the playoffs, as Evan Bouchard has a goal and nine assists.  Bouchard was third on the team in points in the regular season, having 82 of them.

Stuart Skinner is expected to be back in goal in this one and needs to rebound from a bad performance. He allowed five goals on just 24 shots in the first game of the series. It was his worst performance of the playoffs, but something similar has happened before. In game two against the Kings, he allowed five goals on 26 shots in the loss. In the next game, Skinner would stop 27 of 28 shots.

Why The Canucks Will Cover The Spread/Win

Brock Boeser has been a major force for the Canucks so far in the playoffs. He leads the team with four playoff goals and has three assists, giving him a total of seven points. Boser has 40 goals and 33 assists in the regular season, sitting fourth on the team in points.

JT Miller also has been solid in the playoffs. He has two goals and five assists, tied for the top spot on the team in points. Miller led the team in the regular season. He has 37 goals and 66 assists to lead the team with 103 points. Dakota Joshua has been a surprise. He has three goals and four assists so far in the playoffs. Johnson has just 18 goals and 14 assists in the regular season. Meanwhile, Quinn Hughes has remained consistent for the Cancusk. He has five assists in the playoffs so far.  He had 17 goals and 75 assists in the regular season.

Arturs Silovs got the start in game one of the series. He allowed four goals on just 18 shots. This was by far the worst start of the playoffs for Silovs, as he has made the last four starts for the Canucks. They could stick with him, or move back to Casey DeSmith, who has made two starts for the injured Thatcher Demko, but himself was injured in game three with Nashville.

Final Oilers-Canucks Prediction & Pick

This game comes down to a few things. First, the Oilers need more shots on Goa. They have been great at converting shots into goals and need to find a way to get more of them. Second, the Oilers must get better goaltending. Stuart Skinner has been up and down this playoff run. If he can rebound, like he has in the past, the Oilers should take game two.
