The Indiana Pacers parted ways with guard Malcolm Brogdon last week, trading him to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Daniel Theis, Aaron Nesmith, and Nik Stauskas, among others. It ended a three-year stint with the team for Brogdon, who will now go over to Beantown and play a key role in the backcourt for the C's, a team desperate for better guard depth.

On Friday morning, Brogdon hopped on Instagram and thanked the Pacers and their fans for all the support over the last few seasons:

“Indy! I can’t thank everyone in the Pacers organization and in this city enough for making my 3 years here so special”, Malcolm Brogdon said.

“The connections I made with my teammates on the court and the Indy community off of it will always mean the world to me. I started the @brogdonfamilyfnd during my time here because I felt inspired to give back and leave a lasting impact on the youth of this city. I’ll always have love for Indy.”

Brogdon was a solid player for Indy during his time with the franchise. He averaged 18.9 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.1 rebounds across 146 total appearances. The only problem was bad injury luck as he didn't play more than 56 games in a single campaign.

In 2021-22, the former Rookie of the Year was limited to 36 contests, putting up 19.1 points, 5.9 dimes, and 5.1 boards. He missed substantial time with an Achilles injury, among other setbacks.

Nevertheless, Malcolm Brogdon was a solid player for the Pacers. It's just a shame he wasn't available more. Hopefully, he can stay injury-free with the Celtics as he looks to help Jayson Tatum and Co. get back to the Finals.
