Green Bay Packers ball carrier Aaron Jones is looking to run it back with the team in the upcoming seasons. He is already entering the final year of his four-year rookie contract signed back in 2017.

Nearing the end of the training camp, the two-time NFL MVP is confident that his agent will get a deal done while he focuses on playing on the field for the time being.

NFL Network broadcaster Will Selva disclosed Jones' contract situation on Twitter:

Jones was a huge pickup for the Packers who selected him with the 182nd pick in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He became the 19th running back to come off the boards in that year's draft. Despite not being seen as a highly-touted rookie, the former UTEP Miner turned out to make a name for himself in the league.

He has seen an upward trajectory in his individual numbers in each of the three seasons he has had in Green Bay thus far. He recorded career-best numbers in several areas on the stat sheet including rushing yards with 1,084 and rushing attempts with 236 as a full-fledged starter. He also led the league with a total of 16 scored rushing touchdowns en route to being named the NFL rushing touchdowns co-leader in 2019.

The lack of weapons surrounding quarterback Aaron Rodgers will put a heavier scoring load on the shoulders of Jones in the upcoming season. There is no doubt that the four-year veteran will look to take advantage of the opportunity and emerge as a major contributor for the playoff-seeking Packers in 2020.
