The Green Bay Packers opted to sit their starters in the preseason opener versus the Houston Texans, however, it seems fans will be able to get their first look at quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the new offense this week versus the Baltimore Ravens.

According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, head coach Matt LaFleur plans on playing starters on both sides of the ball against Baltimore on Thursday.

Matt LaFleur said Aaron Rodgers and the starters on both sides of the ball will play “a quarter or so” on Thursday at Baltimore.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding the state of the offense amidst all the new changes that were made this offseason. Although the Packers will likely be running a watered-down version of their actual schemes against the Ravens, it will still be interesting to see how they fare against such a talented defense.

The relationship between Rodgers and LaFleur has been under a microscope this offseason after the team parted ways with longtime head coach Mike McCarthy. Despite all the changes, expectations remain as high as ever for Green Bay going into the 2019 NFL season. The onus will undoubtedly be on their new quarterback/coach pairing to find a way to lead them to the promised land.

LaFluer has indicated that he would like to take some of the pressure off of Rodgers with a more balanced approach on offense. Running back Aaron Jones was finally able to log in a full practice for the first time in weeks. The Packers will need to take advantage of their limited time to get acquainted before the regular season begins.
