Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is not worried about Patrick Mahomes and his recent struggles with the Kansas City Chiefs. After all, for Rodgers, it's a normal occurrence that all great players have encountered and will experience throughout their careers.

Ahead of the Packers' Week 9 showdown with the Chiefs on Sunday, Rodgers opened up about Mahomes' rough start to the season. Not only has the young QB accumulated 10 interceptions so far, but he has also failed to lead Kansas City to the top of the AFC West. The Chiefs are 4-4 on the season, tied with the Denver Broncos for the bottom seed.

“When it comes to Pat, I’m not worried about him,” Rodgers said in an appearance on The Pat McAfee Showper 247Sports. “And I don’t think anybody really should be worried about him. When you’re a transcendent talent like that, it’s only a matter of time (before you struggle).”

Aaron Rodgers also acknowledged that all the criticisms on Patrick Mahomes were rooted in the expectations on him to power the Chiefs to the Super Bowl once again. He has done so in the past two years, so the bar is set so high for him. With that said, as he and Kansas City struggle, it's natural for fans and experts alike to overreact.

However, Rodgers put the situation into a better perspective, noting that it's incredibly difficult for anyone to consistently achieve the same level of success as what Mahomes has done year in and year out.

“The most difficult thing is sustained greatness, I think in any sport. There’s an idea of plateauing at your peak and being able to sustain an incredibly high level of play that puts you in the upper echelon. And I believe that’s Pat’s destiny,” Rodgers added.

It remains to be seen if Mahomes can break out of the rut he's currently in as the Chiefs play the 7-1 Packers. Nonetheless, he did express his confidence they will be able to recapture their lethal offensive form sooner rather than later.
