The Green Bay Packers made headlines after deciding to part ways with wide receiver Jordy Nelson. The writing may have been on the wall once they announced their intention to sign former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham.

Needless to say, the move has caught the attention of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Packers' star quarterback recently liked a tweet regarding NFL Network's Rich Eisen's response to Sports Illustrated's article about the team acquiring a “Super Bowl-caliber” talent:

While the context of the article likely details what Graham can bring to the table, there is plenty of truth to Eisen's response. The decision to release Nelson has sent shockwaves throughout the league. It goes without saying that the former Pro Bowler has long served as Rodgers' primary weapon in the passing game.

Unfortunately, Nelson's performance took a huge hit in the absence of his quarterback throughout the 2017 NFL season as he recorded just 53 catches for 482 yards and six touchdowns.

It is easy to see why Rodgers' actions may be perceived as a slight to Graham. However, the two-time MVP may have simply been acknowledging what his teammate did for the franchise rather than just being written off by the media.

The two enjoyed massive success together that included countless highlight plays and, more importantly, a win in Super Bowl XLV. Nelson now enters the offseason as one of the biggest names on the open market. Meanwhile, Rodgers will have to begin the process of building chemistry with another Pro Bowl-caliber talent in Graham, whether he likes it or not.
