During this NFL offseason, Aaron Rodgers is taking a short hiatus to be a stand-in host on Jeopardy!. He's been a host before, but this time it'll be a longer stint.

During this short break away from football, Aaron Rodgers has been hard at work, preparing for his hosting gig for the popular television show, per ESPN. According to Rodgers, he's studied harder for this hosting job harder than anything else he has before.

“I watched hours and hours and hours of episodes,” Rodgers said in a phone interview Friday. “Luckily Netflix has a few seasons, and I went back to DVR. But I had to watch from a different perspective — from Alex's perspective. I couldn't watch it as a fan anymore.”

Considering how great of a player he is in the NFL, Rodgers's ability to study others' playstyles is likely better than most. Quarterbacks have to know everything going on in every play, otherwise the offense can't run smoothly. He's taking those same skills in watching film to help him prepare hosting Jeopardy!.

“I took pages and pages and pages of notes. I wrote down every affirmative that he said to any type of clue. I wrote down how he would respond if they didn't get it right. I wrote down beat points of the show. I wrote down all the different ways he would take it to break. I wrote down the stuff that he said coming out of break. Literally, I studied for this like no other. I wanted to absolutely just crush it.”

You can catch episodes featuring Aaron Rodgers as the host on April fifth through April 12th.
