It is uncertain how the Green Bay Packers plan on using Jordan Love in his rookie season with the team. While Love is seemingly the eventual replacement for Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre believes Green Bay should use Love similar to how the New Orleans Saints use Taysom Hill.

During a conversation about Love, Favre told TMZ Sports how the Packers should deploy the rookie signal-caller:

“I think there's ways to incorporate it much like Taysom Hill with the Saints,” Favre said. “Use him as a halfback, a halfback pass, but occasionally let him run it just to show that you'll do that. Something like that.”

During his college career at Utah State, Love was known for his big arm. On the other hand, he only rushed for 403 yards on 170 attempts and nine touchdowns in his three collegiate seasons. Nevertheless, Favre and some analysts believe Love would be perfect for a Hill-like role with the Packers in 2020.

Since joining the Saints in 2017, Hill has been utilized in a variety of ways despite being listed as the team's backup quarterback.  Just this past season, Hill contributed 156 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. At the same time, he caught 19 passes for 234 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver.

If Love has no interest in being a gadget player, then Favre insinuated that he shouldn't rush to start in the NFL.

“Soak it all in and your time will come,” Favre said of his advice for Jordan.

The Packers definitely turned some heads when they traded up to select Love, including Rodgers. Regardless of when he eventually starts, Favre believes it is best if Green Bay finds different ways to incorporate Love in the offense next season.
