When the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots face off on Sunday night all eyes will be on Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. Former Packers quarterback Brett Favre is excited about the big matchup and thinks it's exactly the type of showdown that fans get excited about.

“Those type of matchups are really kind of what we look forward to as fans,” Favre said via Rob Demovsky of ESPN. “And this is an epic matchup. Now, is it more than those two playing against each other? Absolutely, and as a coach you're stressing that. But it is fun to watch. From a fan's standpoint this is what you look forward to seeing — [Larry] Bird and Magic [Johnson], or a great hitter against a great pitcher.”

“This is one of those games that the ratings will be sky high, and rightfully so. Both quarterbacks are as good as any that has ever played the game, and totally different in styles. I don't know who I'd give the nod to or the advantage to. Both teams, I'm sure, and both fan bases love their chances.”

These are two of the best quarterbacks of all time who are playing in the same era, but this isn't a matchup that fans have been able to see many times. They have only faced off one other time 2014 at Lambeau Field when Rodgers and the Packers had the upper hand 26-21.

The Patriots seem to have a firm grip on their division but the Packers are playing in a crowded NFC North so this is a huge game for them, especially trying to bounce back after a loss last Sunday.
