The Green Bay Packers are officially a perfect 2-0 with each win coming over a longtime division rival. After defeating the Chicago Bears in Week 1, the Packers hosted and beat the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon while the team's defense has surprisingly become the biggest storyline thus far this season.

With the Packers notably edging the Bears by the score of 10-3 in Week 1, the Packers then defeated the Vikings by the score of 21-16 on Sunday afternoon in Green Bay.

However, this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to those who followed the team's offseason moves on the defensive side of the football. Of course, with future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers anchoring the team's offense, the Packers obviously knew that major upgraded needed to come on defense — a notion that the team's front office took care of and then some this offseason.

Green Bay notably selected former Michigan Wolverines linebacker Rashan Gary at No. 12 overall in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Not quite done just yet, the Packers then selected former Maryland Terrapins defensive back Darnell Savage at No. 21 overall in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

In addition to adding talent to the team's defensive core by way of the 2019 NFL Draft, Green Bay also signed a pair of veteran pass rushers in order to solidify its ability to get to the quarterback.

Pairing two rookies with two veterans, the Packers signed edge rushers Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith, which have paid dividends early on.
