The Green Bay Packers will interview Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken for their head-coaching job on Saturday night, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Monken has been the Buccaneers' offensive coordinator for three years, also serving as the wide receivers coach in 2016 and 2017.

In spite of the fact that Tampa Bay missed the playoffs in each of Monken's three seasons on the coaching staff, offense has not been the problem, as Monken has led the Bucs to top-10 finishes in each of the last two years in total yards. As a matter of fact, the Buccaneers ranked third in total offense this season.

Prior to arriving in Tampa Bay in 2016, Monken had limited NFL experience, previously serving as the Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receivers coach from 2007 through 2010.

Most of Monken's chops have come on the college level, as he has worked for nine different schools, including serving as the offensive coordinator for Oklahoma State in 2011 and 2012. He also served as the offensive coordinator for Eastern Michigan in 1998 and 1999.

The Packers are looking for some type of shot in the arm, as they went just 6-9-1 this season and missed the playoffs for the second straight year, marking the first time Green Bay has failed to qualify for the postseason in back-to-back campaigns since 2006.

The Packers fired Mike McCarthy in early December after a horrible loss to the Arizona Cardinals and a 4-7-1 start overall. Following McCarthy's dismissal, offensive coordinator Joe Philbin took over as interim head coach.

McCarthy had been at the helm for Green Bay ever since 2006.
