The Green Bay Packers have converted $14.26 million of Aaron Rodgers' $19.5 million 2020 roster bonus into a signing bonus, according to Field Yates of ESPN. This allows the Packers to prorate that money over five seasons, including 2019.

The move creates $11.4 million in 2020 cap room for Green Bay.

Rodgers hasn't had his best statistical season by any stretch of the imagination, but he has done enough to lead the Packers to their first NFC North division title in three years.

Through 15 games in 2019, Rodgers has thrown for 3,679 yards, 24 touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 63.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 97.9 en route to a Pro Bowl selection.

Up until this past Monday when Rodgers threw a pick in a division-clinching win over the Minnesota Vikings, the veteran signal-caller had gone eight straight games without throwing an interception.

Due to an improved rushing attack and a vastly improved defense, Rodgers has not needed to dial it up as in years past, like in the Packers' last playoff appearance in 2016 when he led the NFL with 40 touchdown passes.

That being said, you have to imagine that in order for Green Bay to make a championship run, Rodgers will have to put forth some vintage performances in what is sure to be a very difficult road to the Super Bowl in a crowded NFC field.

The Packers are 12-3 on the season and can clinch a first-round bye with a win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday. In order to nail down the No. 1 overall seed in the conference, Green Bay will need a victory over the Lions coupled with a San Francisco 49ers loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
