Every wide receiver in the NFL has his own criteria on just what makes an elite wideout in the league today, including for Green Bay Packers star Davante Adams.

The four-time Pro Bowler himself has become a mainstay in many top five wide receivers lists over the past couple of years thanks to his improved play by the season. His peers in the NFL certainly rate him among the more complete receivers in all the league today, especially as the veteran is coming off of a notable season where he led in the league in receiving touchdowns with 18.

In speaking to CBS Sports HQ, the Packers star was asked to provide his top five wideouts today, but he only named four such players.

“Myself, Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, Calvin Ridley,” Adams said. “Five are going to be tough. Good number of guys in there, got some young guys.”

Adams could not pinpoint one player in particular to being the fifth-best wideout in the NFL but rather gave shoutouts to two honorable mentions for this slot, wh0 are among the most promising talents in football today.

“I like Justin Jefferson,” Adams said. “I got a lot of respect for him and that's one of my guys. Jerry Jeudy is another young guy that can really run some routes. I already know that I am forgetting somebody that I got no business forgetting, so I am just gonna stop. If I forgot about you, sorry about it. It is hard to make just five.”

It is noteworthy that for Adams, the likes of DeAndre Hopkins, Julio Jones or Tyreek Hill did not come to mind. Each of these receivers is well among the more proficient route-runners in the NFL today and can create separation away from their nearest defender with relative ease.

Top five lists are subjective, and to Adams' credit, he at the least gave recognition to multiple players who have what it takes to soon become the clear top wideout in football.
