The Green Bay Packers won't be firing anyone on their strength and conditioning staff, but they will be restructuring it, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.

Chris Gizzi will now take over as the leader of the strength and conditioning staff while Mark Lovat, Thadeus Jackson and Grant Thorne will serve as assistants. Lovat had been the head of the program since 2010. Gizzi, who is a former Packers linebacker, had worked under Lovat since 2013.

Injuries have certainly been a problem for Green Bay in recent years.

Two seasons ago, the Packers won just seven games and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008 after Aaron Rodgers went down with a broken collarbone, knocking him out for most of the 2017 campaign.

Then, this past season, Green Bay had a myriad of health issues which played a part in the team finishing just 6-9-1 on the year, marking the first time since 2006 that the Packers had failed to qualify for the postseason in back-to-back campaigns.

The 2018 season was certainly a tumultuous one for the Packers, as Green Bay fired long-time head coach Mike McCarthy following a horrendous Week 13 loss to the lowly Arizona Cardinals which dropped the team to 4-7-1.

McCarthy had been at the helm since 2006, leading the Packers to nine playoff appearances, six NFC North division titles and a Super Bowl championship during the 2010-11 campaign.

Green Bay has since replaced McCarthy with the young Matt LaFleur, a protege of Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay.

LaFleur served as McVay's offensive coordinator in 2017 and spent one season as the Tennessee Titans' offensive play-caller this past year.
