The Green Bay Packers have been active early on in the 2019 NFL offseason while the heralded NFC North franchise has continued to be linked to several free agents still on the open market. After already inking a few notable defenders, the Packers have most recently been linked to a possible reunion with former Oakland Raiders wide receiver Jordy Nelson, who of course began his NFL career in Green Bay.

However, despite the fact that the Packers have remained well within the continued churning of the NFL rumor mill, it appears as though Green Bay isn't in as good of standing as initially reported.

To begin the team's offseason activity, the Packers inked pass rushers Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith to lucrative free agent contracts. Already making a splash, the Packers continued to stay busy en route to signing a pair of veteran defensive backs in safety Adrian Amos and cornerback Bashaud Breeland. Breeland was the last to agree to terms with Green Bay while reportedly inking a one-year deal with the franchise on Monday.

No doubt improving right off the bat, the Packers are currently attempting to bounce back after encountering a disappointing 2018-19 campaign, one that saw Green Bay miss out on the postseason. With the Packers on the outside looking in at the playoffs this past season, the red-hot Chicago Bears notably took over the NFC North division with the Minnesota Vikings also serving as a legitimate threat throughout. Both teams are expected to be dangerous in 2019-20 as well.
