Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham was not able to log in much action during the preseason. Fortunately, it appears he could be will be ready to go for the start of the 2019 NFL season.

Graham has been recovering from a finger injury he suffered two weeks ago. According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, he was finally able to make his return:

TE Jimmy Graham also was back on the field for the first time since he suffered a hand/finger injury in camp. Looked like he had two fingers on right hand taped together.

The timing of the injury was hardly ideal. The Packers have spent the offseason trying to establish a new passing game around quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Regardless, Graham's return is a positive sign for his status in the season opener against the Chicago Bears.

The veteran's debut season in Green Bay fell short of expectations after they signed him to a three-year, $30 million deal prior to the 2018 campaign. Graham's finished the season with 55 receptions for 636 yards and a mere two touchdowns. It is safe to say that head coach Matt LaFleur will be looking to get much more bang for his buck from the former Pro Bowler.

Although his production has dwindled in recent years, there are still high hopes that he can serve as a viable weapon in the red zone.

His size and skill set as a pass-catcher still make him a matchup problem for most defenders, however, he will need to find a way to earn Rodgers' trust in the passing game this season.
