Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who is current an NFL Network analyst, believes that the Green Bay Packers are still the team to beat in the NFC North.

During an NFL Network segment, Tomlinson explained why he thinks the Packers are the favorites to win their division:

“Last time I checked, they still have the best quarterback in that division,” LaDainian Tomlinson said about the Packers (h/t USA Today). “[Aaron Rodgers] is going into his second season in Matt LaFleur’s offense. I really believe he’s going to play his best football, because of that.”

Tomlinson also believes that Rodgers will be motivated by the fact that the Packers drafted Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

“Now, he might not throw for as many yards and touchdowns, but I believe he will be more efficient when they need him to be, especially in the fourth quarter,” Tomlinson said.

In the past season, the Packers thrived in Lafleur's system, finishing the season off with a 13-3 record and making it to the NFC Championship Game. This free agency, they added key players like linebacker Christian Kirksey, wide receiver Devin Funchess and veteran tackle Ricky Wagner. Additionally, they didn't have any key departures.

With that being said, if Rodgers performs like he did last season, the Packers should have no problem winning the NFC North. The 36-year-old QB had a phenomenal season in 2019, completing 62.0 percent for 4,002 yards and 26 touchdowns.
