The Green Bay Packers will square off against the Minnesota Vikings in a game that has plenty of playoff implications in Week 16. Ahead of the game, Mike Zimmer jokingly told reporters to convince Aaron Rodgers to retire.

While the Packers are 11-3, many have been critical of how Rodgers has performed under center. The 15-year veteran has totaled 3,463 yards, 24 touchdowns, and two interceptions thus far.

At 36-years-old, Rodgers isn't as talented as he once was earlier in his NFL career. But at the same time, Zimmer realizes that the gunslinging quarterback is capable of making jaw-dropping throws with ease at any given moment.

Over his career, Rodgers has performed fairly well against the Vikings. The veteran quarterback has combined for 5,259 yards, 43 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 22 games versus Minnesota.

Along with his numbers, Green Bay has recorded a 13-8-1 record in those 22 contests. Therefore, most of the players on the Vikings have been on the wrong end of a memorable performance from Rodgers at some point in their careers.

Despite Rodgers being at quarterback, the Packers have the 17th ranked passing offense in the NFL. With that being said, Rodgers has shown that he can still create plays through the air when he is asked to do so.

But with Matt LaFleur as the head coach, Green Bay's offense is predicated on running the ball, something that Rodgers isn't used to. An effective rushing attack coupled with Rodgers could be precisely what the Packers need to make another playoff push in 2019.

Before looking ahead to the postseason, the Packers will need to defeat the Vikings for the 14th time with Rodgers. On the other hand, Minnesota will have their hands full trying to contain Green Bay's offense at home.
