Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly has allergies relating to some of the COVID-19 vaccines, according to the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Aaron Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee Show Friday. While on the show, he relayed some details surrounding the news that he is unvaccinated.

Rodgers talked about not being an anti-vaxx person, or a flat-earther. He claims that he did a lot of research on the vaccines. He found that he was allergic to an ingredient in the mRNA vaccines, which exist in the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.

That left only the Johnson and Johnson vaccine available to him. Apparently, he heard from friends about some of the side effects of the J&J vaccine and chose not to take it.

Rodgers supposedly then petitioned to the league for an exemption.

Rodgers has come under fire since failing a COVID-19 test earlier in the week. It then came out that Rodgers had not been vaccinated.

That prompted the sports media to reference a press conference with the Packers QB during the off-season. He was asked whether or not he was vaccinated. His response was “yes… I am immunized.” That led people to believe he had been vaccinated.

The Packers are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium this Sunday. However, they will have to do that without Rodgers' services. The earliest Rodgers can return to the team is Saturday, November 13th. That is the day before the Packers play a pivotal game vs Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.

There are five elite NFC teams fighting for the only first round bye available in the post season. Any game missed by Rodgers could significantly impact their ability to earn that bye.
