Saturday came with a mixed bag of updates for Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb. He was placed on injured reserve in order for teammate De'Vondre Campbell to join the 53-man active roster. But based on his Instagram story, Cobb is eager to make a quick recovery. The Athletic Packers reporter Jason Wilde tweeted clips of Cobb's Instagram story, showing him taking part in many different exercises post surgery.

The Packers announced on Thursday that Cobb had potentially season-ending core muscle surgery over their Week 13 bye. Prior to this, there wasn't much information on the groin injury that he suffered in the first half of the Packers' Week 12 game.

Now, it looks like this setback might not be as extensive as we once thought. Cobb posted videos depicting him in different phases of his recovery process. In the video labeled “8 days post op…” he is seen doing simple stretches, working on his entire body. In the “9 days post op…” video, Cobb is jogging on a turf field at a Packers' facility.

Many people are comparing his injury to that of Packers Allen Lazard. The wide receiver had the same surgery last season and missed six games. It's unclear how extensive Cobb's injury and surgery were compared to that of his teammate's. Regardless, it is pretty remarkable that Cobb is up and working on his skills just eight days after undergoing core muscle surgery.
