Rashan Gary was drafted by the Green Bay Packers with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. It was a move that some loved and some hated. One thing is for sure, which is the fact that the Packers are swinging for the fences and could get a huge return on this gamble.

His motor was questioned at Michigan and he was unable to live up to the hype that surrounded him coming out of high school. There are some major concerns about him from a mental and production aspect, but he also has been dealing with a shoulder injury from last year.

Following his section, Rob Demovsky of ESPN has provided an update on the shoulder directly from Gary.

Gary made it clear that his shoulder is no longer a problem and that he did not even need surgery to clear things up. He stated that his shoulder is currently at “110 percent.”

Assuming Gary is actually 100 percent healthy, the Packers have to feel good about their chances to develop the defensive end/outside linebacker. He will be entering a room with names like Mike Daniels, Kenny Clark, Preston Smith, Za'Darius Smith, and plenty of other savvy veterans that can teach him the ropes.

There is no doubting the size and raw potential that Gary possesses. If he can live up to his full potential, the Packers are going to have one of the scariest pass rushers on their roster.

Thankfully, the shoulder injury doesn't appear to be anything to worry about. Gary will be able to hit the ground running in Green Bay and help be part of the defensive rebuild under defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.
