Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Rashan Gary was the 12th overall pick in April and he knows exactly what is expected out of him.

“I’m out there to be a big performer,” Gary said via jsonline.com. “To be a game changer.”

The Packers keep talking about Gary and they feel he is in a good spot but the first two preseason games haven't been great. He has played into the third quarter in each of the first two games and still doesn't have a single stat in the boxscore.

Gary has heard the talk, but he feels like he is improving and in a good spot going forward.

“I feel like I’m getting better,” Gary said. “I’m picking things to improve on. I’m sitting down with coach, and we’re going over what I’m getting better at and what I need to improve on. So I’m keying on those things and making sure I’m getting them done in the game.

“I feel like the plays are going to come. I’ve just got to keep playing football and keep getting better, just focus on myself.”

One of the big reasons for the struggles might be the transition to a new way of playing his position. With the Packers, he has been playing in a two-point stance instead of a three-point stance. With a two-point stance, he needs to pay more attention to the whole field, rather than a three-point stance where you are focused more on one area.

He has been dropping into coverage more and that is something that wasn't always the case with the Wolverines.

The good news for Gary and the Packers is it's only been two preseason games and he still has some time to completely make the adjustment to the NFL.
