Green Bay Packers safety Josh Jones requested a trade this week, almost surely due to the fact that the Packers drafted fellow safety Darnell Savage to put alongside of Adrian Amos, signaling that Jones will likely have to come off the bench.

Packers cornerback Tramon Williams understands Jones' situation and does not begrudge is trade request:

“I mean, I think anybody can understand the frustration, but also got to understand that anytime you step in this building, it's always team first,” said Williams, according to Ryan Wood of The Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Williams is referring to the fact that Jones has not shown up for organized team activities.

“It's always going to be team first. So as long as you're not in this building, I think you'll hurt yourself,” said Williams. “But whenever you're in this building, it's always team first. But I do understand his frustration, and as a player, you have to do what you have to do. You have to some degree look out for yourself. I'll say this one more time: when you're in this building, it's always team first.”

So, basically, Williams is saying that as long as Jones' trade demand does not become a distraction to the team, it's fine.

Jones, whom the Packers drafted in the second round back in 2017, showed some promise in his first couple of years in Green Bay and is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he registered 55 tackles and a sack.

However, it is becoming blatantly obvious that Green Bay wants to go in another direction, so now, Jones does, as well.
