According to Rob Demovsky from ESPN, the Green Bay Packers plan on keeping both DeShone Kizer and Tim Boyle as backup quarterbacks on the 53-man roster after trading Brett Hundley.

After Aaron Rodgers went down with a broken collarbone last season, the Packers struggled behind Hundley's leadership, finishing the season with a 7-9 record. Hundley has reportedly been dealt to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2019 pick. Hundley threw for 1,836 yards and 9 touchdowns last season. He will most likely serve as Russell Wilson's primary backup this season in Seattle.

Most football fans expect Aaron Rodgers to have an MVP caliber year for the Packers this year. If he is able to resume his normal regular season form, the Packers have a chance to seize the NFC North. The Packers have shored up their secondary by acquiring Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson in this year's draft to make the team a little more well rounded on the defensive end. The addition of Jimmy Graham at tight end doesn't hurt either.

While Aaron Rodgers is one of the best options in the world to have under center, their backups are shaky at best. The Packers secured Kizer from the Browns this offseason. Kizer played 15 games in Cleveland and had a league-leading 22 interceptions last season. He will be next up if Rodgers goes down this year.

Meanwhile, Boyle is a rookie quarterback out of Eastern Kentucky that has not recorded a regular season snap in his career. There are questions to be asked about their depth at the quarterback position, but the Packers are confident that Rodgers will be durable and lead them to success this year.
