No Davante Adams, no problem. With the Pro Bowler out, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is feeding a different receiver: second-year emerging threat Marquez Valdez-Scantling.

To kick off the fourth quarter of a tight “Monday Night Football” game between the Packers and Detroit Lions, Rodgers threw a 46-yard beauty to the second-year wide-out. While the pass was perfect, the catch was the same. Valdez-Scantling — with a pressing cornerback draped over him — went “big on big” to make a physical catch.

Unfortunately for the Packers, Valdez-Scantling's big-time catch didn't result in a score. Three plays later, Rodgers threw an interception on a pass intended for wide receiver Darius Shepard. After a field-flipping return by cornerback Justin Coleman, the Lions made a field goal to turn their 19-13 score into a nine-point one.

Rodgers and Valdez-Scantling will need to continue to make their big plays if they hope to beat the Lions at home.
