The New England Patriots may want to start getting running back James White the football more often.

In games where White receives 13 or more carries and/or targets, the Patriots have gone 9-0 this season. Now time for some simple math. The Patriots are 9-5 on the season. That means that in games where White doesn't get 13 touches, New England is…

Very good! 0-5.

White has tallied 354 yards and four touchdowns on the ground this season, averaging 4.3 yards per carry. As a receiver, he has been even more dangerous, hauling in 81 receptions for 699 yards and six scores.

White has been a versatile member of the Pats' offense for quite some time now, and, clearly, his importance cannot be understated.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Wisconsin, was originally selected by the Patriots in the fourth round (130th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

White's role during his rookie campaign was very limited, as he played in just three games and totaled nine carries for 38 yards and five catches for 23 yards.

The following year, however, White's role grew, as head coach Bill Belichick began utilizing him as a receiving threat out of the backfield. That season, White snared 40 balls for 410 yards while reaching the end zone four times.

That continued in 2016, when White finished with 60 catches for 551 yards and five touchdowns.

This has actually been White's most productive year on the ground, as the 81 carries he has gotten this season nearly double the amount of rushing attempts (43) he received in 2017.

The Patriots can clinch the AFC East division crown with a win over the Buffalo Bills next weekend.
