Over two years ago, Mac Jones tweeted a side-by-side picture of his shirtless self next to the infamous shirtless combine photo of Tom Brady. Jones apparently had a premonition given that two years later, the New England Patriots selected him with the No. 15 overall pick on Thursday.

This is the particular tweet from the new Patriots quarterback:

Brady apparently isn't a fan of his shirtless combine photo resurfacing on Twitter every year:

Well, if that picture keeps popping up, perhaps fans will now include Jones' version as well. Having someone else share the “shirtless spotlight” with him should be able to tone down the shame.

There is already an obvious connection between Jones and Brady. Jones will begin his career playing under the system of Bill Belichick, just like Brady did through the first two decades of his Hall of Fame career. Of course, as everybody knows, Brady only became the greatest quarterback of all time, which he cemented during his time with the Patriots. He only added to his legacy this past season by leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl crown since they capped off the 2002 campaign with a dominant victory in Super Bowl XXXVII.

Jones would love to carve out a career similar to Brady. While that seems impossible with just how amazing a career Brady has had, it's never fair to count someone out without even stepping foot on the field.

Nevertheless, with Cam Newton still in the fray for the Patriots, the 22-year-old Jones will most likely begin his career trying to climb his way up the QB depth chart. Newton is set to begin the 2021 NFL season as the starter in New England, but if he struggles or Jones comes along quickly, perhaps there will be an early change.
