With Tom Brady's return to face Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots for the first time since leaving to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, all sorts of stories are starting to emerge.

It's a list that includes passages from ESPN's Seth Wickersham's book, “It's Better to Be Feared,” which is set to release on October 12. Per ESPN and Wickersham's book, Belichick refused to say goodbye to Brady in person when he left the Patriots.

In the end, Tom Brady just wanted to say goodbye — in person — to his longtime coach. But according to a new book to be published next month, Bill Belichick said he wasn't available and insisted the two New England Patriots legends talk on the phone.

It's a pretty cold answer from Belichick after the duo had so much success with the Patriots bringing back one Super Bowl title after another.

Although it was noted that the Patriots coach did tell Brady he was the best to every do it, the former New England quarterback still wanted the conversation to take place in person.

Even though Belichick told Brady that he was “the best player the league had ever seen,” Brady told a friend the fact it came over the phone was “telling” about how badly the duo's relationship had deteriorated over the years.

The Patriots have struggled since Brady left while No. 12 went out in his first year with the Buccaneers and won another Super Bowl.

With all these stories coming to the light, it makes Sunday night's matchup between the Patriots and Buccaneers even more appetizing.
