Cam Newton did not exactly have one of his best games for the New England Patriots on Sunday, as the superstar quarterback carried on with what has been a forgettable past few weeks for him on the field. The 31-year-old was so bad in Sunday's blowout loss against San Francisco, that former NFL QB Jeff Garcia could not help but also take a shot at Newton's pre-/post-game outfits.

You know you've been playing bad when the pundits start criticizing your gameday attire, and this was exactly the case for Newton on Sunday:

“There's nothing good going your way,” Garcia said, via Billy Heyen of Sporting News. “So why are you dressing like that to bring more attention to yourself? I'd be trying to ask the equipment managers: Put me in your jock sock cart and sneak me in the back door and I'll show up on the field and do the best that I can.

“This just goes back to a couple years of just watching this guy and seeing him at the podium,” Garcia added, “but yet what he's doing on the field does not translate to being that guy.”

Garcia made his statement during a post-game program, which was posted on NBC Sports Bay Area's 49ers Twitter account. It wasn't long before the video blew up, which prompted NBC to delete the tweet after around an hour of posting it.

For what it's worth, this was how Newton arrived the Patriots' Week 7 contest against the 49ers:

On Sunday, Newton went for 9-of-15 on his passing for 98 yards and three interceptions. If he keeps on playing like this, then maybe he ought to look into Garcia's not-so-friendly advice here about his fits.
