Cam Newton's time with the New England Patriots is likely going to be coming to a close this offseason. Following his first—and possibly last—campaign with the Pats, Newton revealed what surprised him the most about Bill Belichick.

Belichick is known for being a reserved coach that doesn't tend to say many words during press conferences or interviews. However, Newton seems to believe that Belichick is a different person and coach when the cameras aren't on him.

When the Patriots signed Newton ahead of the 2020 season, everyone assumed that the signing would pan out. To begin the campaign, it looked as if that was going to be the reality after Newton brought an entirely different dynamic to the offense than Tom Brady ever did.

But Newton and the Patriots experienced issues from COVID-19 early in the season and were never the same from that point on. While he completed 65.8 percent of his passes—which is the second-best mark in his career—Newton recorded only 2,657 passing yards, eight passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Amid his struggles as a passer, the former NFL MVP did prove he can still be a threat on the ground for New England. Newton would scamper for 592 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns, which is the most rushing TDs he's had since his rookie campaign in 2011.

On the surface, it seemed Cam Newton and Bill Belichick wouldn't be compatible due to the former being an outgoing person. Contrary to that thought, Newton would love to get a chance to hang out with Belichick off the field, even if he isn't with the Patriots in 2021.
