The Minnesota Vikings will have a reset button after the hiring of new coach Kevin O'Connell. But for now, O'Connell has bigger things in mind. For instance, helping the Los Angeles Rams capture the crown in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday.

O'Connell currently serves as the Rams' offensive coordinator, helping Matthew Stafford and company transform into a potent machine.

The 36-year-old O'Connell has surely come a long way, from being a third round pick by the New England Patriots in 2008 to being a win away from an NFL championship and now to being a top tactician with the Vikings. He shared that his one-year stint with the Patriots as quarterback and learning from coach Bill Belichick has served him well (via NESN's Zack Cox).

Truly, being under the tutelage of Belichick will only do wonders for any individual. The six-time Super Bowl champion coach may be mercurial, but he sure is a genius.

The Vikings are not yet allowed to announce O'Connell's hiring until after Super Bowl LVI, where the Rams are favored to win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Various reports, however, say the Vikings are close to signing Denver Broncos defensive assistant Ed Donatell as new defensive coordinator.

O'Connell is eager to help turn things around with the Vikings. But in the meantime, he will try to help the Rams first in capturing the franchise's first NFL title since 2000.
