Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement from the game of football earlier this offseason, but right from the beginning, many questioned whether or not he would actually stay retired.

Well, we are getting more and more evidence that Gronkowski may end up coming back after all.

Not only did his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, say that he wouldn't be surprised if Gronkowski returned at some point in 2019 if the New England Patriots really needed him, but Gronkowski was also recently catching passes from Tom Brady in Los Angeles.

On top of that, Gronkowski may have told New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees that he would be “coming back” at the ESPYs:

Of course, we are all going to try and hear what we want to hear in this situation, and it's not even clear as to what Gronkowski actually said. And even if Gronkowski did say “I'm coming back,” he could have been talking about something completely different.

Regardless, it would certainly not be a shock if Gronkowski decided to get back on the gridiron. He is just 30 years old, after all.

Gronkowski is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he played 13 games and hauled in 47 receptions for 682 yards and three touchdowns in what was a down year for him.

The five-time Pro Bowler dealt with nagging injuries throughout the year and looked like a mere shell of himself much of the time. However, he was huge in the playoffs, catching 13 passes for 191 yards in helping the Patriots win their sixth Super Bowl title.
