Even at 41 years old, Tom Brady continues to improve areas of his game and his body. That includes bulking up and getting into better shape for the New England Patriots quarterback.

At training camp, Tom Brady says he added weight in the offseason to be able to take more hits. Brady realizes that even behind a talented offensive line that he is still going to take hits while standing in the pocket.

“I wanted to get a little bigger this year and put on a few more pounds and try to absorb the hits a little bit more,” he said Wednesday, addressing local reporters for the first time. “I worked pretty hard at that.”

At 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, Brady has never been considered an imposing quarterback with his size. If anything, he's always been considered a quarterback who looks fragile due to how skinny he is.

On the contrary, Brady has gotten into phenomenal shape to preserve his body every season. After all, you can't play at the elite level he still is at 41 years old if you aren't in shape.

Last season, New England allowed just 21 sacks on their future Hall of Fame quarterback (third-least in the NFL). Although, with Trent Brown departing in free agency, there are question marks surrounding the Patriots offensive line.

Currently, Isaiah Wynn will fill the void left by Brown but missed the entire 2018 season with a torn achilles—after being drafted 23rd overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. Therefore, Wynn will likely get his first NFL start against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1.

With all of the concerns with the offensive line in 2019, Brady is ready to receive more hits in the pocket.
