New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady saw a serious overhaul of his receiving corps this offseason. Fortunately, the presence of his favorite target has helped put him at ease.

He and tight end Rob Gronkowski have enjoyed massive success as one of the best duos in the league for quite some time. According to Tyler Sullivan of  247 Sports, Brady could not help but praise Gronkowski as a teammate:

“I think everything about him is what you're looking for in a player, in a teammate,” Brady said Tuesday. “You know, plays well in the biggest moments and he's everything you look for. So, I'm glad he's on our team, glad he's been a teammate for as long as he has. I've watched him develop from when he first got here to now and seen a lot of growth and I know he's trying to do better every day like we all are. I hope he has a great year.”

Brady's comments are just further evidence of the bromance these two have developed over the years. It goes without saying that they have gone through their fair share of trials and tribulations together and from an individual standpoint during their time in New England. However, the one thing that has never changed is their performance on the field.

Gronkowski is the best tight end in the NFL and one of the most dynamic pass-catchers in the league when healthy. His rare combination of size and speed make him a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses, and Brady is able to take full advantage. He solidified that notion after finishing the 2017 campaign with 69 receptions for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns en route to First-Team All-Pro honors.

However, there has been plenty of uncertainty regarding Gronkowski's future in the NFL. The countless injuries have undoubtedly taken their toll, and it appears as though he is preparing for life after football. That said, Brady could just be taking the initiative to show Gronk his appreciation while he is still around.
