It's possible that there are still New England Patriots fans who are still stunned by Rob Gronkowski's decision to walk away from the NFL for good. However, they're not closing their doors on a Gronk comeback as Robert Kraft himself expressed his desire to see him return to the team come the playoffs.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reminded everyone that the door is still open for Gronk if he wants to make a return and make another run for the Super Bowl with the Pats. Kraft told him that the team will always welcome him back if he decides to pad up once again for one more shot at another Super Bowl.

The owner also had specific instructions for Gronk. He wanted him to return to the team by November so that he can play in the second half and solidify the team's chances of making a deep run in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Gronk himself said that he will need at least a month of preparation before he gets back to playing weight.

He better makes a return quickly if he wants to play for the Super Bowl. If he doesn't get out of the injured/retired list by then, he won't be eligible to play in the playoffs.

However, the man himself is taking things one step at a time.

“If I get the gut feeling, that's what I would need,” Gronkowski told the RapSheet and Friends podcast in August, when asked what it would take for a return. “My soul would have to be on fire, and I wouldn't just listen to it for one day. It would have to be a consistent basis, too.”

Moreover, that one Tom Brady tweet has sent Patriots Twitter on a meltdown.
