When the Oakland Raiders released Antonio Brown, people quickly took to social media to exclaim that the New England Patriots would bring him in. An NFL coach shares the same sentiment as those fans and believes Bill Belichick will pull the trigger.

The Patriots are well-known to take chances on players that have questionable character issues, especially at wide receiver. New England once traded with the team who just released Brown to acquire a 30-year-old Randy Moss.

Moss had two disappointing seasons in Oakland that involved him being upset with playing for the team. In his first season with the Patriots, Moss caught an NFL-record 23 touchdowns in 2007. Once again, New England was the ultimate winner by taking a risk on a talented player that had character concerns.

Even now, the Patriots were able to acquire Josh Gordon from the Cleveland Browns in 2018. Gordon has had troubles with remaining on the field due to addiction issues, but he appears to be ready to put all of that behind him in 2019.

As for Brown, he hasn't done anything to hurt anyone but himself.  The six-time Pro Bowler caused quite the commotion in his short stay with the Raiders.

If Brown hopes to continue his career in the NFL, he is going to have to let his actions speak louder than his words. Maybe playing for an organization as finely structured as the Patriots is exactly what he needs to return to being the once-dominant receiver he was just last season.
