Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George was in Las Vegas to take in the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor weigh-in, but he still couldn’t escape questions about his future and the possibility of him taking his talents to L.A.

SB Nation’s Kristian Winfield asked the All-Star forward about the chances of him ending up with the Los Angeles Lakers next summer, but he gave a pretty political answer.

“We’ll see,” he continued, addressing the idea of joining the Lakers next season. “I’m a Thunder, and my job is to give them the best I have this year and see what happens after that.”

The Lakers are currently being investigated for tampering with George, although the NBA is unlikely to come down hard on the franchise. If that is indeed the case, the Lakers could still end up signing George in free agency as many have expected for some time.

While George is probably telling the truth in terms of being a professional and giving his all for the Oklahoma City Thunder this season, there’s a decent chance he already knows what his plans for next summer are going to be. It won’t be a complete shock if that decision involves heading home to Los Angeles.
