The New Orleans Pelicans have been playing the role of the underdog for most of the season, going into a series against a heavily favored Golden State Warriors team isn't anything.

When DeMarcus Cousins went down with an injury most people counted them out, but Anthony Davis stepped up and helped carry them into the playoffs.

In their first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers, they were underdogs but they made quick work of them sweeping them in four games.

Now against the Warriors, no one is really giving them a chance but the Pelicans don't seem to mind and are confident as ever.

“We know what we're capable of doing. We like the underdog role,” Pelicans guard Ian Clark told William Guillory of The Times-Picayune. “We know we're going against (the Warriors), but why not us? Why not be able to take down the defending champions and keep moving and keep this sentimental story going?”

Pelicans star Anthony Davis also isn't concerned about what everyone outside the building is talking about, he is just worried about the play on the court.

“People still don't give us the credit that we deserve, but we don't really care about all the white noise,” Davis said. “We just go out there and compete, play to the best of our ability and let the rest of it take care of itself.”

If the Pelicans are to pull the big upset in this series they are going to need everyone to play an almost perfect series, but it can happen, and if Stephen Curry misses anytime in the series it will probably make the task just a bit easier.
