In a huge matchup between two teams that are fighting for the final wild-card spot in the NFC, the New Orleans Saints vs. Philadelphia Eagles Week 11 game will be one of the best of the week. The Eagles will try to take advantage of a struggling Saints team that is coming into this one as the losers of two straight games. This is a rematch of a game from a year ago in Philadelphia when the Eagles beat the Saints 24-21.

Overall, the all-time Eagles-Saints scoreboard has the eagles with 18 wins to just 15 for the Saints. Here are four predictions for how the Eagles can make it 19-15 and come away with the victory.

4. Jalen Hurts will not run for more than 40 yards

With the Eagles figuring out their running game over the past few weeks, and with the Saints being one of the best run defenses in the NFL, it is a game where “something has to give.” While we are projecting the eagles to be able to move the ball vs the Saints, we are not projecting much of it to come on the ground. The yards that Philadelphia does get on the ground will likely come from their running backs–at least for this week.

The Saints have been gashed through the air when they have had bad losses, so that is where Philly will need to attack. It will take away from the ability of Hurts to rack up rushing yards, but it will be better for the team in the long run. If they employ the strategy that we are projecting here, it will lead to…

3. Jalen Hurts will throw at least two touchdowns

We wanted to get to three here but held off because of the Eagles' ability to pound the ball in from the red zone. If Hurts running backs steal away a few of his pass attempts at the goal line and he takes some keepers to himself, as well; both of those will make it so that Hurts' touchdown pass numbers for the game to stay low.

So, two seems like the likely number that Hurts needs to hit and the next question is…who will they be thrown to? Rookie wide receiver DeVonta Smith has been excellent recently and has been the team's main touchdown scorer through the air in 2021. But, the Saints can throw a heavy dose of Marshon Lattimore at him and possibly throw him off his game. If that happens, it opens up plenty of space and one-on-ones matchups for…

2. Both touchdowns will be to Dallas Goedert

Goedert, the owner of just two measly touchdowns on the year, is going to double that total in this game on Sunday. As mentioned earlier, with teams having to focus more and more attention on Smith each and every week, it opens up opportunities for Goedert–especially in the red zone.

Goedert is not going to finish the year with just three or four touchdowns, meaning a few games like this are in store from here on out. It could be the start of a great ending to the year for the tight end that is heading into the final year of his rookie deal. He needs to play well to close out this season if he is going to hold off whichever player the Eagles bring in to replace traded tight end, Zach Ertz and eventually to earn that next contract. If Goedert has this type of game, it will easily lead to…

1. The Eagles will win by a touchdown

This game is only a one and half point spread at most sportsbooks, but we see it as a clear victory for Philadelphia. New Orleans is reeling after losing Jameis Winston for the season with a torn ACL, they have had two straight losses after the adrenaline of losing Winston led them to an improbable win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers three weeks ago.

The Saints and new starting quarterback Trevor Siemien are reeling, and it is up to the Eagles to help them continue on their freefall.  Along with the two touchdowns to Goedert, expect the Eagles to also get a score on the ground and finish this game with right around 24 points–just like last year.

The Saints, however, are struggling to bring any sort of emotion to their games–emotion and energy that this defense fed off of last year. In the last two games, the Saints lost by a combined four points in games they could have won. That could send a team one of two ways.

First, it could send them into a winning streak because they realize just how close they were to two straight victories. Or –and that is what we are projecting– it could go the other way and the Saints can crumble as a squad due to them not feeling like they have the requisite quarterback (Siemien) to “get them over the hump.” If that happens, it could get to be an ugly one in Philadelphia.
